Jesus used five smooth “stones” to answer the religious leaders’ questions. His answers were smooth in the sense that they were the perfect form and shape necessary to shatter their worldview and their self-righteous outlook on life. All of us need this sort of correction and humbling. Without it, we cannot come to the Lord and receive his grace.
